Miele Identities
For the third time, Miele is headline partner of the World Architecture Festival, the world's largest interactive event for global architecture awards. This year, the world architecture community will meet in Amsterdam from 28 to 30 November. Miele will be represented with its own stand throughout the event and will be the point of contact for international markets. This year the company is also sponsor of the "Commercial mixed-use Future Project" category, and in this context is continuously presenting some of the projects on this shortlist in greater detail.
"Shape & Identity" - Lake Garden
Does a bold form necessarily create identity? How do we ensure a new building blends in with its urban surroundings? And can identity also work inwardly? These questions have been answered by the Singaporean architecture firm AK+ in its striking design of the Lake Garden Co-Housing residential and shopping complex in Malaysia.
"Density & Identity" - Commercial Bank Headquarters
The high-rise, glass-fronted buildings of banks are a global stereotype. The unusual combination with a hotel already makes a difference. But it’s the design of the Aedas architecture practice which creates that truly special identity of the building by its ingenious interpretation of the Bank’s logo.
The Designers from Archimatika hat the task to create a new city component – on a side with restricted connection to the surrounding urban fabric. With their distinctive and intelligent solution, they managed to be the first Ukrainian building project ever to be shortlisted for the World Architecture Festival.

Tabanlıoğlu Partners reactivates the historic Haliç Shipyard through reconstruction and conversion – and boost the area’s resurgence as a lively and busy district.
