Wherever possible, we strive to avoid waste. In production, we reuse materials, and where that option is not feasible, we recycle them. As a general rule, unavoidable waste is carefully separated and recycled wherever possible. Professional service companies are appointed to dispose the waste. In order to reduce our use of paper, we introduced recycled paper with Blue Angel certification at all of our German sites in 2015. This measure saves around 45 tonnes of fresh fibre paper every year.
Reduce water consumption, protect natural bodies of water
We strive to continually reduce our water consumption. We are working to identify areas with water-saving potential. At our plants in Gütersloh, Oelde, Lehrte and Bürmoos, we can discharge waste water into the public sewer system due to its low level of contamination. As at all other plant locations, regular samples are taken to ensure that there are no issues with water quality.
